As a child, I grew up in a little town near Barcelona, mesmerized by the beauty and mysteries of the Mediterranean Sea.

I’d spend countless hours at the beach…

My hair messy from the salty breeze…

My pockets filled with incredible seashells.

I would carefully search for the prettiest ones. Each shell felt like a tiny treasure gifted by the sea.

With sun-kissed skin and sandy toes, I’d return home and empty my pockets onto the table.

I couldn’t wait to marvel at my findings.

I’d sit for hours, carefully selecting each one…

Stringing them together with clumsy but determined hands.

The necklaces I made were far from perfect, but to me, they were magical.

I still remember the joy of giving them away—slipping them over my mom’s neck or handing them to a friend with a proud smile.

Sometimes, I’d keep one for myself, wearing it like a secret piece of the Mediterranean I could carry with me everywhere.

It was my way of sharing the Mediterranean’s beauty with the people I loved.

Those moments shaped me…

As I grew older, my love for the Mediterranean carried me beyond my childhood shores.

The mystical Greek islands…

The golden coasts of Italy…

The crystal-blue coves of Croatia…

I’m fortunate to have wandered through many corners of this magic land.

And I founded Mediterranean Ousia to share the essence—the ousia—of the Mediterranean with the world.

But at the same time, to help protect it.

With all the Mediterranean has given me, I can only be grateful and give back to support its fragile ecosystems and blue waters.
